Providing leisure schemes for disabled children and young people

Week 6

A great week this week. Thanks to all those who have helped walk 42 miles through Rhyl and along the coast to Prestatyn until we start to see England across the Dee, passing the Point of Ayr Lighthouse and quietly walking through the Reserve at Point of Ayr, trying to catch a glimpse of a Curlew or Oster catcher or two. After that we enjoy the Dyffryn Maes Glas / Greenfield Valley Heritage Park with its history dating back to the Roman times, through the Industrial Revolution and into the 1980s. As the mouth of the Dee narrows we pass site of Connah’s Quay power station, Connah’s Quay, it’s self (named after the industrialist who helped build the main dock in the town) and around Hawarden Airport before the final run to the villages of Pulford and Lavister, putting our feet up near the grounds of Elizabethan manor house of Trevalyn Hall.
