Providing leisure schemes for disabled children and young people
Since 1978, DASH Ceredigion has been organising a variety of leisure schemes for children with additional needs, disabled children and young people within the county of Ceredigion.
We do this so that local children and their families can have a better quality of life with access to a wide choice of leisure facilities and opportunities.
Parents and carers get time to recharge their batteries and children and young people get time of their own for personal, social and creative development in a welcoming and fun environment.
What do we do
We provide a range of playschemes and respite for children and young people between the ages of 4 and 25.
Lots of fun activities and outings for the children such as horse riding, swimming and beach trips to name but a few.
Small groups of young people and support staff go on day outings. The young people can choose where they would like to go and what they would like to do.
This a mobile youth club that goes out during evenings each week in term time. Activities include skiing, horse riding, arts & crafts and film nights.
Small groups of young people stay away for the weekend at the Ty Glyn Bungalow – a specially adapted bungalow with a sensory garden in the grounds.
Ymuno provides support to access a local childcare club or playscheme provision.
Volunteers are a great help to scheme staff and help keep up the fun levels at our playschemes for 4-11-year olds and Activity Days for 12-25 year olds and other sessions. Have time to offer DASH, but have other things to offer? We are always looking for Friends of DASH to take part in fundraising, Trustees and Consultants.
Your donations directly help support DASH provide activities and opportunities to children and young people with disabilities in Ceredigion. We are grateful for any contribution you can feel you can make
Donate at one of our collection boxes in shops around the county or via our online donation platform, Local Giving.
